Curious George is the name, and hiking’s the game!

I am hiking the 2200 miles of the Appalachian Trail (AT). I began in 2014, and completed 920 miles. I stopped due to injuries. I plan to complete my hike in 2016!
We are all about labels. On the AT, we are all known by a nickname. Tradition has it that you “earn” your nickname through some foible or inclination, though in recent years, many at least TRY to pick their own nicknames.
I earned mine before even stepping on the trail! The website of AT hikers is called Whiteblaze.com, for the “white blazes” that direct hikers along the path. As you can imagine, there are blogs about every aspect of hiking, from food and clothing, to gear and techniques.

whimsical part of the pillowcase is that it happens to have monkeys on the fleece portion… Well, I decided to blog about my new acquisition, and promote the pillowcase maker. I posted a photo of the pillowcase, and thanks to a few readers and posts, the label Curious George was mine! I checked with my support team of 4 grandkids, and they all heartily approved, so Curious George it is!
For those looking for a short biography, I will stick to labels:
Great to meet you CG! As you tromp through your 2K miles, remember that Snacktime and I are hiking with you in spirit!
Thanks for the warm reception. I will think of you both every day, as I hang my food with Snacktime’s bag! Best wishes!
